Alvor is situated just 45 mins drive from the international airport of Faro which can be accessed from many parts of the UK. The weather stays good late into the year and then starts to get warmer in March. So for you keen golfers it is excellent. Local Area

Although this ancient coastal village is now a popular holiday location the development has been kept to a minimum so keeping the quaintness and charm of a historic fishing village. The 16th century parish church, Igreja Matriz, had to be rebuilt in the 18th century after an earthquake left nothing standing and now is an ineresting place to visit.

The lovely beach with its small restaurants/ snack bars and lots of small coves are within easy walking distance from the apartment. There are also various top class golf courses all around the village. All this is nestling in a river estuary with bars and restaurants overlooking the local fishing vessels. So plenty to see and do.
